We finished reading our second chapter book!

Hello room 75!
I love when we finish reading a book and are able to talk about what was in the book!  What our favorite parts were; who are favorite characters are; what it reminds us of; comparing it to other books we may have read; and whether we enjoyed the book.  Students share with your parents the book we just finished and what you chose to write about as your response to it!!

This morning, students were quite engaged in math as we used Mathletics.  (Remember to make sure that your computer does NOT block cookies).  Students worked diligently on their assignments and then were eager to compete against other students in the class and around the world on Live Mathletics!!  Most assignments were focused on learning about place value.  We talked about what "standard, expanded and written" forms were when writing numbers.  Ask your child to share with you what they discussed.  This was our first lesson on the subject, so watch as their confidence and understandings of numbers grow over the next little while.

Tomorrow is Music.  Mrs. McBride has asked me to remind the class to make sure that they have their precorder and music duotang!  If they left it in the class that is fine, if they brought them home, students need to make sure to put them in their backpacks so that they are prepared for their lesson!

Important reminders:
Thursday, October 24th- Picture Retake day!! (really it is Wilson!)
Wednesday, October 30th- Halloween Howler
Friday, November 1st. NO SCHOOL PD DAY

Homework:
Play outside
Read for 15-30 minutes

Work on your book projects that are due next week.  By now your book should be finished and you should have started working on the project part.  I can't wait to see them next week.  Tomorrow we will discuss the projects a bit more and decide who would like to present on the first day.

Question for the blog:
What have you done so far for your book project? (When answering this question, please include, the name of the book, whether you have finished it, and then what parts you have started to work on).

Have a great evening!
See you tomorrow,
Ms. Handelsman
