Things to keep track of for the upcoming week.

Hello room 75!

We are about to start a short and busy week at school.
A few reminders to keep track of.
This week your book projects are due. Please make sure that you have been working on them with your family and that you bring them in this week so that you can share them with the class. Each day we will have a few students share their projects with the class.
On Thursday we will be celebrating Halloween as a class and as part of the school. As mentioned on Friday, we will have a Halloween parade in the afternoon (2pm).  We are asking that you bring your costumes to school and then change into them after lunch. That way you can participate in gym and outdoor recess without worrying too much about your costume. If part of your costume requires you to do it at home, such as your parents painting your face, you can do so at home, and then change into the rest of your costume at lunch.  Thursday is also FUN LUNCH.
For our celebration, I do have a short video that we can watch which will allow us time to play games with each other.  If you have a board game that you enjoy playing at home, and are allowed to bring to school, you are welcome to do so.  We will have around an hour for games before the parade and then the video.
Also, if you would like to bring snacks to share and eat with the class, we are asking for snacks that are healthy. You will be receiving a great deal of candy from trick or treating, and it would be good to have healthy snacks.  If you are interested in bringing goody bags or treats to handout that can be taken home to be eaten, there are 22 students in the class. Please make sure that you bring enough for everyone. As always, we ask that any snacks that are brought in be PEANUT free.

On Monday, we will also be starting to learn to speak FRENCH!  All of the grade 3 and 4 students will be learning French this year.  We have split the students up into groups and each Monday, they will be learning a different component of French with one of the grade 3/4 teachers.  I will be teaching the students about the calendar and the days of the week in French.

I hope that you are enjoying our first snowfall! I wonder if there will be snow on the ground when you go trick or treating on Thursday night?
